Background-check requests use identifiers including full name, race, sex, and date of birth. Report requests should include a case number when known; if unavailable, use available details such as date, time, location, and involved persons. Prepayment is required for the request route, with payment methods including check, cash, or money order; cards are not used for this route. The exact current fee was not verified from the linked fee page, so confirm cost before paying. Records held by another law-enforcement agency must be requested from that agency; the Highlands County Sheriff route does not replace every custodian.
